2 Corinthians 3

Ministers of a New Covenant

1 Look, we are not out here bragging or tryna hype ourselves up again. We do not need any letters of recommendation to prove ourselves, either from you all or for you all, do we,

2 You all yourselves are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by everybody.

3 It is clear you all are a letter from Christ, delivered by us, not written with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on stone tablets but on hearts made of flesh.

4 This confidence we got is not because of ourselves but because of God, through Christ.

5 We are not saying we got this on our own strength; our sufficiency comes straight from God.

6 He is the one who made us able to be ministers of a new covenant, not one of letters but of the Spirit. Because the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

7 Now, if the ministry written on stone, the old law, came with glory, even though it brought death, Moses’ face was shining so bright folks could not even look at him, even though that shine was fadin’…

8 How much more glory should the ministry of the Spirit have,

9 If the ministry that brought condemnation had glory, the ministry that brings righteousness got way more glory.

10 In fact, what was once glorious do not even compare now, because the new glory outshines it all.

11 And if what was fading came with glory, how much more permanent and glorious is what we got now,

12 So, since we got this kind of hope, we can be bold.

13 We are not like Moses, who had to cover his face with a veil so folks would not see the glory fading away.

14 But their minds were closed off. Even today, when they read the old covenant, that same veil is still there, only Christ can take it away.

15 Even now, whenever Moses is read, there is a veil over their hearts.

16 But when someone turns to the Lord, the veil gets lifted.

17 Now, the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

18 And we all, with unveiled faces, are reflecting the Lord’s glory, being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, coming from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
