Corinthians 16

Read 1 Corinthians 16 in clear, relatable modern language.

The Collection for the Saints

Now about the money collection for the believers, I want you all to do like I told the churches in Galatia.

On the first day of the week, each of you should put some money aside as you have been blessed, so no collection has to happen when I get there.

When I arrive, I will send whoever you approve with letters to take your gift to Jerusalem.

If it seems good, I might go with them too.

I will come to you after I pass through Macedonia, since I am planning to hit up Macedonia first.

Maybe I will stay with you all for a while, maybe even through the winter, so you all can help me on my journey wherever I go.

I do not just want to see you all in passing; I am hoping to chill with you all for a bit, if the Lord lets it happen.

But I will be in Ephesus until Pentecost.

God opened a big door for me to do His work here, but there is a lotta haters.

If Timothy comes, treat him with respect, because he is doing God’s work just like I am.

Do not let anyone disrespect him. Help him on his way in peace so he can come back to me. I am expecting him with the other brothers.

About our brother Apollos, I wanted him to visit you all, but he did not feel like it right now. He will come when he gets the chance.

Final Greetings

Stay woke, stand firm in the faith, act like grown men, and be strong.

Do everything with love.

You all know Stephanas and his crew were the first believers in Achaia, and they are serving God’s people. Show them some love.

Be supportive to folks like them and anyone else working hard for the Lord.

I am glad that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus came through, because they made up for you all not being here.

They lifted my spirit, and yours too. Show love to folks like them.

The churches in Asia send their greetings. Aquila and Priscilla, along with the church that meets in their crib, send much love in the Lord.

All the brothers and sisters here send their love. Greet each other with a holy kiss.

I, Paul, am writing this part in my own hand.

If anyone does not love the Lord, let them be cursed. Come, Lord!

May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all.

My love goes out to all of you in Christ Jesus. Amen.
