So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul (king of Assyria), also known as Tiglath-pileser. He came through and took them into exile, dragging away the people of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh. They were taken to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan, where they stayed in exile to this day.
